I found this article of the same title… but only after thinking a long while on this topic: The Meaning of Life May Be Life Itself | Psychology Today. Anyway, it discusses people who had a “suffering-induced transformational experience” (SITE), e.g. a medical diagnosis that reminded them of their limited timespan on planet Earth or their diminishing ability to take part in life. And how they “woke up” and felt grateful about their existence.
