Our image of what we want to create is based on external input: our socialisation, culture, media and every other piece of information our brain is bombarded with.
And whatever we consume and adore shapes our understanding of what is “best”. Just as much as our passion drives us, it can, based on our tastes, also demoralise us because we inevitably criticise our work in comparison to what we ingested.
