Two detectives, a rookie and a veteran, hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his motives.

Seven is a movie about a serial killer who is fanatic about punishing the seven deadly sins: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. He wants to cleanse the world, thinking that it his duty to fulfill God’s wishes.
But the main point the movie makes relates to Self-fulfilling prophecies. The detectives play into the hands of the killer, right to the end… He tells the detectives he would give a full condition if he could show them the other two bodies, knowing full-well that the two will agree to bring the case to a close.
It is then revealed that he himself portrays Envy, wanting the simple life of Mill’s and his wife’s life. He fulfills his prophecy by killing the wife, telling the young rookie detective, counting on his emotions and plans for revenge – his Wrath – taking over, killing the murderer.
