Zusammenfassung:: This study uses a quantitative prosodic analysis to compare a voice perceived as extraordinarily charismatic (Steve Jobs) to base samples from previous studies. It’s one of the earliest computer-based studies trying to measure charisma from acoustic-phonetic features.
Motivation:: develop training on how to sound more charismatic, highlight potential advances to technology which would help analyse ”behavioural characteristics like human speech” (p. 366)
Ergebnisse:: Steve Jobs is a more charismatic speaker in contrast to reference samples, based on acoustic profile and their “key features of charisma” melody, loudness, tempo and fluency (p. 366)
