Latent variable model

Jul 30, 2022, 1 min read

  • #concept

A latent variable model is a statistical model which puts observable, manifest variables in relation to latent variables.

It is assumed that observed variables are independent of eachother if the latent variable is fixed. This postulate is called Local independence.

Maybe at some point in the future I can use this explanation of local dependence in latent class models for my Research MOC… and actually understand it.
